Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LARprotein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family.Liprins interact with members of LAR family of transmembraneprotein tyrosine phosphatases, which are known Anti-Liprin alpha 1抗體to be important foraxon guidance and mammary gland development. This protein binds tothe intracellular membrane-distal phosphatase domain of tyrosinephosphatase LAR, and appears to localize LAR to cell focaladhesions. This interaction may regulate the disassembly of focaladhesion and thus help orchestrate cell-matrix interactions.Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinctisoforms have been described.
