Recombineering with Red/ET allows cloning, subcloning and modification of DNA at any chosen position. It permits precise engineering of DNA molecules of any size, including very large ones such as BACs or the E. coli chromosome.
Red/ET Recombination increases the power of CRISPR/Cas9 to extend genome studies. As part of the EU funded project AgedBrainSYsbiO we developed a new strategy to humanize large genomic regions. By combining CRISPR/Cas9 with Red/ET Recombineering we successfully knocked in a 33 kb human fragment into the mouse ApoE locus. Read our recently published work for more detailes.
4-Way Recombineering (4WR) offers a new fast and streamlined way to assemble plasmIDS in a single in vivo recombination step from up to four DNA fragments, e.g. PCR products. 4WR is a new application for Gene Bridges' popular Direct Cloning-proficient E. coli strain GB05-dir (Cat. No. K008).
GeneBridges owns the exclusive rights to Red/ET Recombination and is allowed to issue licenses for the technology and to offer a recombineering service. No other academic or commercial organization has the right to offer a recombineering service.
