Background:
PTP zeta (receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase zeta) is a type I membrane protein chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan with a transmembrane domain and intracellular tyrosine phosphatase domains. PTP zeta may be involved in the Anti-PTP zeta抗體regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. PTP zeta is developmentally regulated in the brain and specifically expressed in the central nervous system, where it is localized in the Purkinje cell layer of the cerebellum, the dentate gyrus, and the subependymal layer of the anterior horn of the lateral ventricle. PTP zeta belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family and contains 1 eukaryotic-type carbonic anhydrase domain, 1 fibronectin type III domain and 2 tyrosine-protein phosphatase domains.
